The Head Chef Contractor is engaged to provide agreed-upon culinary services for specific assignments and is expected to exercise independent professional judgment regarding the manner and means used to perform those services, consistent with the contracted scope, event requirements, food-safety obligations, client specifications, and applicable law. Contractors may be offered assignments based on Blasus’s business and event needs. Unless otherwise provided in a written agreement, contractors are generally free to accept or decline individual assignments. Once an assignment is accepted, however, the contractor is expected to honor the agreed-upon event date, arrival or service requirements, scope of work, and other contractual commitments. Nothing in this job description alone guarantees a minimum number of assignments, hours, events, or earnings.
Responsibilities
As an independent contractor, the Head Chef is responsible for managing their own business and tax obligations as required by applicable law.
These responsibilities may include:
- Maintaining any licenses, permits, food-safety certifications, or professional credentials required to legally perform the contracted services.
